Welcome to a New Academic Year
A quick look at what makes this topic worth reading.
The gates of Kargil International School, Sarai, open once again this July, and with them comes the familiar mix of excitement and nerves that marks the start of a new academic year. Fresh uniforms, new textbooks, and a little apprehension about a new class teacher are par for the course — and this year is no different for our students across Vaishali district and beyond.
For the incoming batch of Nursery and Class 1 students, the first few weeks are less about the CBSE syllabus and more about settling in: learning where the washrooms are, making a first friend, and getting comfortable being away from home for a few hours. Our primary wing teachers spend the opening fortnight on structured play and gentle routines rather than rushing into formal lessons, because a child who feels safe learns faster later.
For our senior students, especially those stepping into Class 10 and Class 12, this year carries the added weight of board examinations. We have already begun mapping out the annual calendar with periodic assessments, doubt-clearing sessions, and revision blocks built in from day one, rather than crammed into the final months. Parents will receive the full academic calendar within the first two weeks, along with information on parent-teacher meeting dates.
This year also brings a few changes worth mentioning. We are expanding our library hours, adding an extra computer lab session for middle school, and strengthening our sports period with a qualified physical education coordinator. None of these are dramatic overhauls — they are steady improvements built on feedback from last year's parent survey, which many of you took the time to fill out.
We know that a school is only as strong as the partnership between teachers and families. As the academic year begins, we ask parents to check their child's school diary regularly, attend the orientation session scheduled for the first Saturday of the term, and reach out to class teachers directly with any concerns rather than waiting for the term to end.
To every student walking through our gates this year — whether it is your first day at Kargil International School or your last year with us — welcome back. We are glad you are here, and we are looking forward to a year of steady, meaningful learning together.
